It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of the 30th Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi and 75th Laurel Wreath Laureate, Samuel C. Hamilton. He was a 1963 initiate of the Clark College Chapter, the Gamma Kappa Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi (SE). In addition to being elected to lead the Fraternity at the highest level as Grand Polemarch, he faithfully served for 60 years in various leadership positions, as an undergraduate, at his local alumni chapter, regionally, and at the national levels. Grand Polemarch Hamilton will be remembered for his kind nature, warm demeanor, and as a perpetual mentor to all who sought his advice and experience. Upon reflecting on the character of the 30th Grand Polemarch, the current Grand Polemarch Reuben A. Shelton, III, Esq. stated, “He was a man beyond measure and a brother like no other. A Nupe’s NUPE. But for me, he was a great friend whom I will miss dearly.” The 34th Grand Polemarch Reuben A. Shelton, III, Esq. has called for an observance of 30 days of official mourning in adherence to our protocol standards. The Fraternity conveys our deepest sympathy to the Hamilton family and requests that all keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this hour of bereavement. Details of 30th Grand Polemarch Hamilton’s services are forthcoming.
